Kids' Author Rides Into Town
If a dark blue Harley rumbles into your town someday soon carrying a rider whose beaded leather jacket announces that she's "Runnin' Wild in Texas", don't get worried. Just wave at the nice children's author as she heads for the next stop on her book tour.
Deborah Morris, author of the Real Kids Real Adventures book series and creator of the Emmy-nominated TV series based on her books, continues her two-wheeled cross-Texas and cross-country book tour promoting her kids' and teens' titles: Teens 911: Snowbound, a new teen reality series from HCI; and Real Kids Real Adventures in Texas, a special edition from Rowman and Littlefield Publishing Group featuring contemporary young heroes and survivors in the Lone Star State.
"Book tours can be exhausting when you spend all your time in airports and rental cars," Morris explains from her home in Garland, Texas. "But for a rider, there's nothing better than being told you have to go on the road. Fortunately, the marketing director at HCI has a Harley and understood my preference to make this a road trip instead of a traditional tour."
Morris is also spreading the word that large-print hardcover editions of the Real Kids Real Adventures volumes are now being released by Thorndike Press, a division of Gale. "It's been a busy year," she admits.
